"The responsibilities of Membership in any club or organization are substantial. Decisions you make should be made with great thought and integrity. At times, it will require that you, a Member, put aside your personal choices, impressions, and experience to vote upon an issue. A vote on a issue is not what YOU would do, but what you believe is best for the forward motion of the organization.
Anything written is open to interpretation, therefore be careful to read source/primary documents, not the Cliff Notes, or someone else's interpreted version. I believe the issue at hand is the ability to TALK to AKC about possible registration, not that registration is being asked for . Would it not be appropriate to approach AKC for information on what other breeds have done, for example, those that have allowed genetic improvements by introducing a second breed multi-generations in the past?
Whether you are pro- or anti-LUA is not the issue here. The pro-LUA people were chastized for failing to proactively educate and communicate their intentions. Now, they are doing what was requested........going to the DCA Board, going to the Membership, etc.
Do each of you as a voting Member of DCA, truly believe it is in everyone's best interest to unilaterally say NO, even to discussion?
I sincerly hope not.
Please consider voting YES, that as a valued, responsible Member of DCA that you may learn more, hear more, and make informed decisions."
