Is it time for D.C.A. to discuss the possibility of AKC
registration of the descendants of the
Dalmatian-Pointer cross?

Response by Ron Zimmerman

It is long overdue that the club erase the ridiculous, ill-formulated and most likely illegal prohibitions against discussing whatever needs to be discussed consistent with the purpose of the club.

This existing prohibition is in my mind evidence of the inappropriate zeal for extreme purity and scrupulously closed gene pools that characterizes today's show environment. The deleterious effects of closed gene pools has been well documented.

That there remains a substantial portion of the club that would prohibit discussion of anything, let alone a noble, well-intended, and well-considered effort such as this is shameful. That the club fails to recognize their responsibility to design and allow healthy family pets is beyond comprehension.
